Summer Heat: Wardrobe
It's heating up here in Rochester, and that means a lot of different fashion transitions for me. Gone are the jeggings, jeans, and leggings of spring; it's time for skirts!
I've probably have said this before, but I'll say it again: I don't like shorts. I don't find them flattering on me and have had issues finding a pair that isn't too short but also not made for middle aged women. Since I can't spend the whole of hot weather living off of jeans, I decided last year to instead spend money on skirts. It worked great last year, and I'm doing the same this summer.
I wore this little ensemble to Eastview Mall the other day. Around here, it's the closest to an upscale shopping center that we have. I originally was just going to throw on something not as cute because I didn't think I would see anyone while I was there... Of course, I ran into about 6 different familiar faces (some I did want to see, like a girl I graduated with; others I made sure to avoid all eye contact and hide in the aisles of Forever 21), so it's a good thing I reconsidered.

ABW Challenge: Day 42

Day 42
Today was my fun outfit. I have been saving this top to wear for while, and although it was still a bit chilly outside, I decided to wear it. The long sleeves make it weather appropriate while the mint color is very much in the tune of the spring season. Because the top and bottom are solid and plain in the front, I decided to add the pear necklace to give it some texture.
Pinspiration!
A majority of this outfit was made using pictures from Pinterest.
I got this backless top from Pink by Victoria's Secret. It is normally $24.50, but it was on sale for $15. You know how I am with a good deal like that! I also got the bralette at VS awhie a go, but have not used it yet. I love how pretty it is in the back! I also like that it has some lining in the front so I feel more comfortable wearing it.
I was originally hesitant about trying this hairstyle out. My hair isn't that long, and I thought it may look weird. But I went for it anyways. This "Lace Braid" as it is called, came out pretty. For some of my hair that wouldn't reach around to the ponytail, I attached the flower clip in order to keep it in.

ABW Challenge: Day 41
Day 41
You guys, it almost got up to 40 degrees today! Well, not including the windchill... but still! You can see in the picture on the right that there is actual sunlight. I'm usually one that absolutely loves winter, but fashion wise, spring is just a more fun season to get dressed in, wouldn't you say?
I found this lovely "some shade between coral and tangerine" blazer at Marshall's for $20 on my last expenditure. I was pretty much wasting time at the mall before an appointment I had and also had to get stuff for a birthday. These impulsive trips become an issue for me because I usually spend an outrageous amount of money. I justified most of the purchases as being for some internship interviews that I hopefully *cross my fingers* will be getting to soon. I also got a gorgeous mint blouse to pair with it, but I will save that for another day!
I put the new blazer together with my Rainbow Brite shift top and my pretty bow shoes from F21. I also put on my peter pan collar necklace to add some sparkle to the outfit.
Tomorrow, I want to do something different with my hair. But what to do... Pinterest, here I come!

Braids & Bows
Braids were a huge hit this past summer, and definitely will be seen this fall in even more elaborate and creative patterns. I found this braid crown on Teen Vogue. I've seen other variations of this, but I like this one because of how the two braids come from either side of the head, and then are pinned in the middle. Here's a pic and link to the Teen Vogue website:

I also am loving bows, and even though they seem like a spring sort of style, I love this scarf bow idea that Anne Le posted on youtube. This will definitely look cute once the cold weather rolls in!
