ABW Challenge: Day 54

Day 54

I was pretty sick yesterday, so no pictures. You wouldn't want to see them. It would just be scary.
I originally got this dress from TJ Maxx last year for a graduation ceremony, and I still enjoy it. I love the small cut outs at the top around the neck line. It also has a great cinched pull string waist that makes it very flattering.

I also decided to go curly for a week. I do this a few times a year just to give my hair a break from all the heating processes I put it throughout the year. I make sure to use a leave in conditioner in my hair to keep the curls frizz free. I also use hair gel on top to keep my hair from looking like it's an explosion.

While my hair is wet and after I put in the gel and conditioner, I wrap my hair and put a cloth over it. I feel like this lengthens the curls and prevents my thick hair from making it seem short.

ABW Challenge: Day 53

Day 53

I know I've said this a million times before, but I LOVE this blazer. The stripes are just so complimentary and work great with a plain outfit. The dress is an inexpensive item I got at H&M (was less than $10), and is a basic spaghetti strapped top with an empire waist. I paired the navy outfit with my pretty pink bow flats to make it pop.

More Work Fashion

Today, I had an interview with a major corporation for a summer internship. Although the position is less than thrilling, I wanted to at least get to the interview if I was able to make it that far in the hiring process. I was not sure what to wear there; with major companies, sometimes its pant suits and nothing else, while others can be a touch more casual. I went the in-between route and wore darker colors, but added the strip blazer since it was a bit chilly outside.

ABW Challenge: Day 52

 Day 52

This outfit has got to be one of my favorites. Somewhat inspired by the overdose of Coachella fashion everywhere, I decided to honor music in my own way. I took a concert tee that I have had for about a year and snipped it up to make a muscle tee. I decided to cut out the tee mainly because I have had it for so long but haven't worn it with an outfit yet, and decided it was a great top to practice on. I also wanted to have a top with oversized arm holes to show off my the pretty lacy bralette from Pink by VS. I put it with my bright blue jegs, wedge sandals, and the peter pan collar necklace to keep it interesting, and love the way it came out!

Pinterest Inspiration

This visual tutorial helped me tremendously with cutting my tee shirt. I made my own adjustments since it became a muscle shirt rather than a workout tank, but the basics were still helpful.

ABW Challenge: Day 51

Day 51

Today was warmer weather! Just as promised, I wore a short sleeve backless top from Pink by VS. To spice the front up, I wore my peacock medallion along with some light pink kitten heels. I ended up changing to my cheetah print skirt later that day, but soon regretted it. Even though it was warm, I had to have my hands at my side to prevent the lightweight skirt from flying up and pulling a Marilyn Monroe. Jeans proved to be the better choice!

I love how my curls came out today! I used a wand for the majority of my hair, then switched to a small curling iron for the front of my hair. It came out pretty and wavy and wonderful!

ABW Challenge: Day 50

Only two more weeks to go!
Day 50
This is the same top I wore with jeggings on Day 16, but with a new twist. I paired it with leggings and wore it as a tunic top and put it with a black waist belt. It looks nearly like a modern version of a kimono. I love how it turned out. It was very comfortable to wear and something different from the usual sweaters and cardis I wear when it is chilly out.

On Monday, its going to be 75 degrees! I'm so excited that I'm not even sure what I am going to wear yet! I'm sure it will be a skirt I haven't been able to wear yet, or possible be another backless top... or both? We'll see!

ABW Challenge: Day 49

Day 49

Cheetah time! The weather today was cold, wet, and rainy. What better way to offset this then by wearing animal print! I paired the graphic sweater with the black body con and pearl string necklace.

ABW Challenge: Day 48

 Day 48

Originally, I had a nice spring outfit planned out for the day: a little sundress and my blazer from H&M. Checking the weather this early afternoon, though, I found that it was actually 44 degrees rather than the predicted 65. Even though I knew the temperature was surely going to rise, I decided against going bare legged and instead put on some tights and a body con with a ruffle blouse. To spice the outfit up (just a tad), I went with putting a skinny white waist belt and a cute little pink bow headband. Even though its pretty dark for spring, I think the flowers at least give it some life.

Work Fashion for Spring

I purchased this mint top and tangerine blazer from Marshall's a few weeks ago in order to prepare for interviews. I am currently working on getting an internship this summer in the public relations or marketing field.

Public relations in a non-profit sector seems to be vastly different than in the business ones, at least fashion wise. Because three of my interviews were for non-profit organizations, one of which was a film festival for sustainable themed entertainment, I went with the more vibrant and colorful look rather than the traditional conservative business attire. My assumptions seemed pretty on point since most of the people I meant in the organizations were chilling in jeans and a button up.

ABW Challenge: Day 47

Day 47

Did not have class yesterday (Wednesday), but today, I finally got to wear a short skirt without tights! This outfit is a slight variation of Day 1, minus the combat boots, jegs, and pearls. This skirt and the tank were made for each other, so it makes sense that they look so awesome together. Thank you, Zara! Of course, the boyfriend blazer just adds some laid back class to the outfit.

ABW Challenge: Day 46

Day 46

This little ditty was put together just so I could wear that great cut out top again. Until it gets a bit warmer, I'm planning on taking full advantage of button up and cardigan combos. Spring, where are you?!

I also did another variation of the voluminous bun I so adore. This one was done in about five minutes, and came out prettier and bigger than ever. I love when hair is effortless!

ABW Challenge: Day 45

Day 45

Black and white and leopard all over!

This color depleted outfit came together last minute thanks to the Easter Weekend (as in I may have overslept). Nevertheless, I really like this ensemble. I originally was going to pair some bright violet tights with the skirt, but I wanted to mix prints instead of a color pop. The seashell necklace went perfect with the monotone coloring. The hair is similar to Day 8, and I definitely recommend it as a quick and easy 'do. It has the pretty factor of a sock bun, but nearly as effortless as a messy one.
